Test Updates: A Humbling

England sit ugly on 150-8 after India amassed 520 and declared with the same number of wickets down.

There seem to be issues running through the team at the moment:

Who opens with Cook? When did Trott last score a big’un (the wrong’un’s older sibling)? KP. Ian Bell’s mindset. Who should bat number 6? Two spinners or one? Stuart Broad’s current malaise. Bresnan’s inability to do anything much. Finn’s injury. In fact, only the aforementioned Captain, Graeme Swann, James Anderson and Matthew Prior can realistically say they haven’t really let England down.

India for their part have worked their gameplan exactly as they hoped. Win toss, bat first, score a huge amount, bowl spin, watch England crumble. It is only day three of a four Test series. Oh. Crumbs.

Elsewhere the Windies – Banger game looks a bit of a corker, both sides hitting 500+ before the Windies were bowled out leaving a target of 240. Currently 6 down with just over 100 to get! I bet a draw. In Sri Lanka, New Zealand have gotten to 80-3 in their first innings in Galle.
